– Omikron is an extra heavy-duty castor range, designed for very high load applications from 1,200 kg up to 22,500 kg, with overall heights from 180–610 mm and wheel diameters from 100–500 mm.  The range is built for premium mobility in demanding environments, with a focus on productivity, safety, design, durability and environmental friendliness.

– Key strengths include extra heavy-duty welded solid steel construction, a wide range of standard variants, and optimised maneuverability through twin-wheel and four-wheel designs.  The housings are robust and suited to high load capacity, with welded solid steel construction, long-lasting galvanised surfaces, easy steering and quick maintenance via long-life grease and grease nipples.

– Omikron offers multiple castor formats including fixed castors, swivel castors, directional lock castors, wheel lock castors and kick-pedal wheel lock versions. Wheel features include non-marking movement, non-staining operation, load distribution, low wear, traction on wet/slippery floors, easy wheel replacement and ergonomic rolling resistance.

– The wheel options include Duratech Load polyamide, Novatech FTP polyurethane, Novatech STP polyurethane with solid steel hub, and Elastech FVP solid rubber, each suited to different floor, load and shock-absorption requirements.

– Load capacity is calculated based on the weight of the application plus the load, divided by three castors when using four castors. The castors are tested to EN 12533 at 6 km/h.  Omikron covers both single-wheel and twin-wheel castors, with polyamide versions offering maximum load capacity and polyurethane versions positioned as industrial all-rounders for heavy loads.
